I miss you.
One thing people always say to me is ‘I wish I could do your job’.
Well here’s my thoughts on the matter in the wake of these natural disasters that keep occurring. I’ve tour for maybe 6-7 years now and it’s a huge part of my life, I love the people I’ve met and the memories I’ll always treasure… But when is enough, enough?
I’m 26 years old and I’ve pretty much grown up touring. I’ve missed weddings, friends having babies and I’ve lost touch with people I was once very close to… It’s hard.
I’ve had a distinct lack of girlfriends over the years because girls don’t trust guys who tour, which is fair enough. Try holding down a relationship when you’re away for 10 months out of the year…
I hope it never happens, but if something happens at home and I’m on the other side of the world, what would I do? It’s a big ‘what if’ I know, but the older you get the more you think about these things…
Touring is great and I love seeing the world with my friends, I’m just saying sometimes it isn’t all it’s cracked up to be….
Oliver.
