How did you get into doing merch and touring?
Would you recommend trying it for someone with no idea what they want to do yet? :)
I left college at 17-18 and wanted to go on tour in a band, so I did that for a couple of years. When my band broke up I worked for a friend’s band. In turn, I met other bands through them and it sort of snowballed. Worked for many bands in many different countries.
I’m not sure I’d recommend it as such. It’s all I ever wanted to do and all I’ve ever really known. Been around music all my life so it sort of fell into place for me. It’s very difficult to get out of once you do it. It’s very hard to hold down friends/relationships at home. I’ve tried and failed at both. I have a very small amount of close friends at home and the rest of my close friends live all over the world.
If it’s something you really want to do, no one should make the decision but you. Good luck!
