I thought I’d write a blog about people. People who help me do what I do and my work/life etc… So here goes:
Hidden In Plain View - First band I ever really worked for, passed my name on to MxPx, which led to me working for one of my favourite bands of all time (MxPx) on what was my first ever ‘real’ tour.
Johnny Phillips - Back when I played in a band, he helped get us shows. When I managed a band, he helped them get shows. When I worked for bands, he helped me work for bands and he helps me go to shows. True legend. Lord knows why he helps me so much, just hope he realises I appreciate and respect him.
Clint Eastman - Big influence on me and how I do my job, met him while he was working for +44. We kept in touch and he’s a good friend. Always got my back. Best merch guy in the business. Knows it all and always there if I need advice or input.
Chris Varvaro - Another merch guy with a big influence on me. A man who is so positive about life it can’t help but rub off on people as well as being great at his job. Hell of a guy, maybe the best guy I’ve ever met… If not, he’s close.
Matt Geyer - Worked alongside Matt while he was working for The Starting Line. Same kinda background as me and we just got on really well, very very professional in everything he does and great for advice.
Andre Simoes - Only met Dre last summer and he’s just one of the best dudes on the planet. When you spend the whole of warped tour in a merch tent, you need good dudes around and Dre was that dude! Hell, Michael Bolton hired him! Enough said!
Rob Highcroft - Best tour manager in the business. Touring without Rob is just never as good. Professional and honest, but he cares. Always has my back and I have nothing but respect for him.
You can call this ‘gay’ or whatever you want. All these people have had a big influence on me and the work I’ve done for 6 years and I’d be nowhere without the help and advice these people offer.
If you ever meet any of these people. Buy them a drink.
